Before you buy
Are these forms legal in my state?
They are written to be state-neutral: rules that differ by state, such as breaks, paid sick leave, final paycheck timing and PTO payout, are left as placeholders or notes, and the Start Here guide lists 11 topics to check. They are templates, not legal advice. Have an employment attorney or HR professional review your handbook before you hand it out.
Does the job application ask about criminal history or past pay?
No. Many states and cities restrict those questions, so the application asks for desired pay only and has no conviction question. An employer note on the form explains what to check if you screen for either.
Can I edit them in Google Docs or Pages?
Yes. Upload a .docx to Google Drive and choose Open with Google Docs, or open it in Apple Pages. The files use only standard tables, text tick boxes and highlighting, no macros or Word-only features. A PDF of every document is included for printing or e-signing.
Do I need to write my own employee handbook?
No. The handbook template has 15 sections already written in plain English. You fill in the placeholders, pick one option in each Choose one box (for example the PTO structure), and delete any policy you will not follow.
Are Form I-9 and Form W-4 included?
No. The onboarding checklist and offer letter tell you when to complete them, but you should download the current versions from the government websites so you always have the latest form.
How do I get the files?
Instantly after payment: a download page opens and the link is also emailed to you. Lost it? Email us and we resend it.
What if it is not what I need?
Email us within 14 days and we refund you. No forms, no questions.
