HR forms and timesheets for small employers

Once you hire your first employee you need a paper trail: an application, an offer letter, a handbook they sign, time records that show overtime correctly, and a written record when something goes wrong.

The kits below cover a business with 1 to 50 employees and no HR department. Employment rules differ by state, so each document marks the places to check your state's requirements.

Questions

Are these forms valid in my state?

They are state-neutral templates. At-will language, final pay timing, overtime and break rules vary by state; each form marks where to check. Not legal advice.

Does the timesheet calculate overtime for my state?

You set the rules in Settings: weekly threshold, optional daily threshold and the multiplier. It defaults to 40 hours a week at 1.5x.

Can I use them with payroll software?

Yes. The timesheet gives regular and overtime hours per employee per pay period, which is what payroll software asks for.
