11 tabs, one linked system
- 1
Settings
Business name, entity type (sets the equity wording: owner's capital, member draws, shareholder distributions, dividends), fiscal year start month and year, last month closed, accounting basis, statement footnote. Dropdowns reject typos, and a settings check flags anything it cannot read.
- 2
Chart of Accounts
Editable account numbers and names for revenue lines, returns, cost of goods sold, 18 operating expenses, depreciation, other income and expense, income tax, and every balance sheet account. Mark each expense Fixed or Variable for break-even; untagged expenses count as Fixed and are flagged.
- 3
Monthly P&L
12 monthly columns, year to date, % of revenue, prior year same period, $ and % change. Gross profit, operating income, net income and margins calculate.
- 4
Prior Year
Last fiscal year by month. Feeds the same-period comparison and shows the full prior year.
- 5
Balance Sheet
Opening column plus 12 month-ends: cash, receivables, inventory, fixed assets less accumulated depreciation (rolls from the P&L, less disposals), liabilities and debt. Equity is calculated from capital, contributions, draws, retained earnings and net income. Balance check and status per month, rows for equipment sales and write-offs, carry-forward figures for next year, and a list of where to look when it is off.
- 6
Cash Flow
Indirect method by month and year to date: operating, investing and financing activities (term debt shown with its current portion, gains on equipment sales moved to investing), ending cash compared with the balance sheet, free cash flow and inventory purchased.
- 7
Statements
Print set for a lender, landlord or partner: P&L with % of revenue and prior year, comparative balance sheet, statement of cash flows. Unused and zero lines drop out, so there are no gaps; an amount typed in an unnamed slot prints as Other, so every statement adds up. One page each.
- 8
Key Ratios
KPI strip, data checks, and monthly plus year-to-date gross, operating and net margin, working capital, current and quick ratio, debt-to-equity, interest coverage, DSO and inventory days, plus year-to-date inventory turns. Chart of revenue, gross profit and net income.
- 9
Break-Even
Fixed costs and variable cost % pulled from your P&L with optional overrides, average sale per unit. Break-even sales and units per month, per year and per day open, margin of safety, sales needed for a target profit, month-by-month table and chart.
- 10
Sales Forecast
Next fiscal year by product line: this year's actual for each closed month (an estimate from last year for the rest), growth % per line, dollar adjustments by month, returns %, net revenue and gross profit forecast, chart against the last 12 months.
- 11
Statement Lines (helper)
Lists every possible statement line and whether it has an amount, so the Statements tab prints without gaps. Labeled; nothing to type here.

Before you buy
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Open Google Sheets, File > Import > Upload the .xlsx. Formulas, dropdowns, conditional formatting and charts carry over. One difference: Sheets cannot draw borders from conditional formatting, so the printed statements keep bold totals but not the thin rule lines above them. Every formula uses functions both Excel and Sheets support; there are no macros.
Why does my balance sheet not balance?
The check row compares assets with liabilities plus equity, and equity comes from your P&L and owner activity, so a gap means something is missing on one side. The usual causes are an owner draw not entered, a loan payment booked fully as expense instead of interest only, or an inventory figure that does not match cost of goods sold. The Balance Sheet tab lists them.
Can I change the accounts and the fiscal year?
Yes. Rename any account on the Chart of Accounts tab and every tab follows. Pick any fiscal year start month in Settings; month headers, year to date and the statements adjust.
Is this accounting software or tax advice?
No. It is a reporting template: you enter monthly totals from your bookkeeping and it builds the statements. It is not tax or accounting advice. Have your accountant or bookkeeper review statements before you give them to a lender or file anything.
